# LAVA

> LAVA is an operator-led venture fund investing in pre-seed to pre-Series A companies using Web3 and AI to build the financial and trust infrastructure of frontier markets, with a focus on Africa.

## What We Do

LAVA invests $100K–$500K checks in early-stage founders building stablecoin payments, on/off-ramps, credit infrastructure, local currency stablecoins, and trust infrastructure across Africa. We are Web3-native and operator-led, meaning our partners have built and operated companies in the same markets we invest in.

## Investment Thesis

We believe Africa is not a laggard market waiting to adopt Western financial systems — it is a frontier where new financial primitives are being invented. We back founders who are building the infrastructure that makes this possible.

Our thesis is organized around three pillars:
- **Simple Finance** — financial infrastructure and products (payments, FX, savings, credit, stablecoins, neobanks, wallets) designed for African markets.
